Krystian Tkaczewski received his Master of Arts diploma from the Academy of Music in Wroclaw in 2004 under Olga Rusina. He received a graduate diploma at Hartford in the studio of Oxana Yablonskaya in 2007 and made his Carnegie Hall debut. At present he is pursuing his Doctor of Music Arts degree at the University of Hartford. Krystian was a laureate winner of many competitions such as the Konzerteum Competition in Athens (2nd prize), European Piano Competition in Bari (Grand Prize), Inter-fest Piano Competition in Bitola, Macedonia (1st prize), New Acropolis competition in Madrid (2nd Prize), Int’l Piano Competition in Bologna (2nd prize), CSMTA Competition in Hartford, CT (Gold prize), Artists International Auditions in New York, (Winner), and the Bradshaw & Buono Competition in New York (1st prize). In June 2006, Krystian was featured in the 50th Anniversary of Society of Polish Artist Musicians Gala with the Polish Radio Orchestra. He has concertized in15 countries and has played with the Hartford Symphony, Polish National Radio, Wroclaw Philharmonic, and Connecticut Virtuosi. He has been a member of the Society of Polish Musical Artists since 2004 and is the founder and artistic director of the Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford and the Chopin Society of Connecticut.
