Mudi Han, as a young competition winner, played in televised performances in China since he was 9 years old and made his orchestra debut at the age of 14 at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Discovered and sponsored by Solomon Mikowsky, he studied in the Prep. Division at Manhattan School of Music, winning First Prize, the L.B. Balakian Award, presented by the Music Teacher’s League of NYC and made his New York debut at Steinway Hall on his 17th birthday. On full scholarship, he received his BM degree in Piano Performance and a BA with Honors in Economics at Oberlin in 2006. Always on full scholarship, he received his MM from Indiana University-Bloomington and is currently studying with Dr. Tamás Ungár at Texas Christian University. As a prizewinner, he has performed in concert halls across the United States. He performs regularly for the Akron Tuesday Musical Club, the Three Arts Club of Lakewood and at charitable events that benefit classical musicians in the US. A member of the prestigious Omicron Delta Epsilon (The International Economics Honor Society), Mr. Han is an insightful economist whose honor thesis titled China’s Population Growth, Economic Growth, and Family-Planning Policies has been permanently archived in the Main (Mudd) Library at Oberlin College.
