Jessica Julin, soprano, a recent National Grand Finalist of The Metropolitan Opera National Council, was born in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Julin just received her diploma from the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts, where she performed such roles as Agathe in Der Freischütz, Freia in Das Rheingold and the title role in Vanessa. In the past year, she made her debut with The Philadelphia Orchestra as Magdelene in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (under the baton of Maestro Rafael Frübeck de Burgos), as well as performing overseas (both Giorgetta in Il tabarro, and a February working session at Teatro alla Scala). Studying at both Ithaca College (BM) as well as Indiana University (MM), she performed Beatrice in the Collegiate Premiere of A View from the Bridge, and was a full tuition scholarship recipient. She has garnered 1st place awards in competitions including: the J.P. Parkinson Opera Competition, The Giargiari Bel Canto Competition, Indianapolis Matinee Musicale, Bel Canto Foundation of Chicago and The Ithaca Opera Competition. Upcoming performances include a gala concert for the opening of the new opera house in Oslo, Norway.
