Lauren Michelle, soprano, is a vibrant force among rising opera singers. Ms. Michelle received her Bachelor’s Degree from The Juilliard School. She has performed for young audiences in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Italy, England, and South Africa. She won First Prize in both the Leontyne Price Competition and the NATS Competition. She spent a year and a half in Florence, Italy as an apprentice at the Teatro Communale di Firenze, becoming fluent in Italian and performing the role of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and the title role in Reynaldo Hahn’s Mozart.

She has sung recitals of lieder and French/American art songs at festivals throughout France and the USA. In summer, 2008, Ms. Michelle sang the role of Helena in Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the prestigious Banff Center in Canada and began graduate study at UCLA where she sang the role of Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. She is a student of Vladimir Chernov.
