Rustam Muradov, born in Northern Ossetia, completed his early musical education in the Saint-Petersburg Special Music School of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. He graduated with three degrees, one in piano, one in harpsichord and one in solo voice. Currently he is in his second year studying at the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory. He successfully participated in master classes with famous professors M.Evtich and S.Ossipenko (Vladikavkaz, 2003), N.Seregina (Saint-Petersburg, 2003), V.Brons (Munich, 2007), D.Pollack and L.Dorfman (Frankfurt, 2007). He became the prizewinner of numerous international piano competitions, the most significant of these being the Republic Festival of Tchaikovsky Music (Second Prize, Vladikavkaz, 1995), Republic Competition “The Ossetian Star”(First prize, 2002), the Gartoff Foundation Chamber Music Competition (Third prize, Saint-Petersburg, 2004), the Piano Duo International Competition “Europe’s Window” (First Prize, Saint-Petersburg, 2007), International Competition “ISAM” (Grand-Prix, Мichelstadt, 2007), Maria Yudina International Piano Duo Competition (Second Prize, Saint-Petersburg, 2008) and the International Johannes Brahms Competition Poertschach, Austria (2008). His talent is marked by the prestigious Yuri Temirkanov Award (2004).
