Maolin Zhang, bass-baritone, is currently enrolled as a D.M.A. student in Vocal Performance at Michigan State University.

He has performed Figaro in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in Sichuan International Music Festival (2005), the title role in Verdi’s Falstaff in Japan (2006), Sarastro in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in Shanghai (2007), and he won 4th Prize in the 2006 Japan Nagagute International Opera Competition, 4th Prize in the 2007 Japan Mozart Music Competition, 3rd Prize in the 2007 Japan International New Musician Competition, a Finalist (third-ranked) in the 38th Italian Bellini International Singing Competition and most recently was selected to participate in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium.

He has successfully held recitals at Naha City in Japan, Shanghai, Chengdu in China, and East Lansing, Michigan.
